The game that the whole of Brazil waited to watch with Botafogo and Real Madrid on the field will give way to a clash between the Champions League champion against the one largely responsible for the Brazilian’s absence – Pachuca.

After leaving Botafogo behind and lifting the Derby das Américas trophy, Pachuca beat Al Ahly on penalties, and reached the Intercontinental final against the Spanish giant.

In an impressive turnaround against the Egyptians, which began with two missed penalties from Pachuca in the final decision, the club reached its first world final.

Ahly’s first three penalties turned into goals, reaching a 3-1 lead in penalties. The turnaround came with no room for error, until a 3-3 draw and a final cross on the Egyptian’s side.

The place in the final was reached in Doha, with 6 to 5 penalties over the Egyptian club. In regular time and extra time, the game was not 0-0. The surprising campaign is Pachuca’s fifth time in the world cup, as they finished third twice, but never reached the final.

With this, in addition to the Derby of the Americas trophy, Pachuca also reaches the final with the Challenger Cup. The final against Madrid, which went straight to the decision according to the rule destined for the European champion, will be next Wednesday (18 ), at 2pm.
