A 74-year-old pedestrian was seriously injured in a traffic accident on Obchodná Street in Žilina on Monday morning. The Žilina regional police informed about it on the social network. According to the police, the woman should have crossed the road outside the properly marked pedestrian crossing and without reflective elementswhile it collided with a Peugeot passenger car for reasons that have not yet been determined.
“The woman (74) suffered serious injuries, with which she was taken to the hospital. The driver was breathalyzed with a negative result,” the police said. She added that the circumstances of the traffic accident are under investigation. “We appeal to pedestrians to cross only through properly marked pedestrian crossings and be marked with reflective elements,” the police added.
