Vasco is trying to renew the contract with top scorer Pablo Vegetti, but the mission is not easy. The center forward has his name linked to other teams, including Fluminense.
In a press conference this Monday (16/12), the tricolor president, Mário Bittencourt, admitted the search for the player’s representatives to the Laranjeiras club.
However, the negotiations did not progress, and Flu prioritizes striker Richarlison for the position.
– There was a search for our head of scoutin the sense that the player would be interested in seeking new horizons. There, we didn’t make any movement. Now, at the end of the season, we looked for information, we heard that the player had a renewal proposal, but that he was on the market. I picked up the phone, called Vasco to see if there was interest in trading the athlete – revealed the agent.

Will Vegetti renew with Vasco?
According to Bittencourt, Vasco is trying to extend the bond with Vegetti.
– He is a great player, a great center forward, every great player is interesting, but Vasco said they have no interest in negotiating the athlete, who is looking for a renewal. I speak calmly, I’m sure the athlete doesn’t know about the movements, it’s the businessman’s job to look for proposals. Vasco said he wants to negotiate his stay, he is an idol of the club, I thanked him… We always look for the club first, we do this with everyone. That’s what happened – he explained.
The speech did not please Vasco fans on social media and generated a reaction from Vegetti.
– If someone did this in our name, it was without our consent – wrote the player on a social network.
– As my manager just did, with great respect to all parties, I also want to make it clear that neither I nor my manager had direct contact with the Fluminense president and/or scout, neither in the middle of the year nor now. If someone did it in our name, it was without our consent and/or approval – said Vegetti.
