Civil Defense carried out this Tuesday (17) a technical inspection at the Water Treatment Station 1 (ETA 1), in the Sobral neighborhood, which has its structure compromised after a landslide recorded in the early hours of Monday (17) .

Erosion affected the part responsible for transporting water from the catchment to the treatment plant, compromising the water supply in the capital of Acre.
The coordinator of Municipal Civil Defense, Colonel Cláudio Falcão, said he is studying the possibility of an emergency decree.

“We finished this analysis just now. Together with the Saerb team, we will start thinking about a solution so that we do not have any harm to the water supply in Rio Branco. We do not rule out the possibility of declaring an emergency situation. After all the analyses, we will or will not make a recommendation in this regard to the mayor”, he highlighted.

“The compromise situation is serious. In the same way, we will also inspect ETA 2 and, if necessary, we will include it in the emergency decree, for the benefit of the population, so that we do not have losses in the water supply, at this time when the rainy season begins, the landslides and earth movements that happen in almost every part of the city”, he concluded.
This Monday, the City Hall informed which locations had partial suspension of water supply.
