Gaviões da Fiel’s campaign to pay off the Neo Química Arena, Corinthians’ stadium, has been a success among Corinthians fans. Last Monday (16/12), Timão organizers announced the biggest donors to the action.

Who were the people who donated the most?
The list of biggest donors includes several personalities, such as former Corinthians players and television presenters. The first on the list, however, is not very well known.
This is businessman Maurício Chamati, founder of Mercado Bitcoin, one of the largest cryptocurrency brokers in the world.

How is the Corinthians arena crowd doing?
The measure is an initiative by Gaviões da Fiel and the account will be monitored by an independent tax commission. This account will not be accessible to people who are part of the Corinthians board of directors. All amounts deposited will be used exclusively to pay off the debt balance.
As Corinthians will not have access to the amounts, there is no risk of the account being blocked or seized. The planned relationships with the club are only related to marketing campaigns and publicity.
What is the account to donate to the Arena crowdfunding?
As of this Tuesday (12/17), more than R$31 million had been raised. Donations are being made via Pix, through .
The campaign will have a memorial at the arena. It will display the names of all fans who contribute more than R$100.
The “fundraising” will last for six months. If the target is reached before, the collection will be interrupted. Internally, organizers believe full value can be realized.

What is the total value of Corinthians’ debt?
The presentation was conducted at the Corinthians CT by Pedro Silveira, the club’s financial director. The total debt was updated to R$2.3 billion. At the beginning of the year, it was R$2.1 billion.
In the presentation, the statements showing the divisions of this value were revealed. According to Pedro Silveira, R$924 million is related to debts, overdue taxes, social obligations, loans and image rights with players. This is the majority of the debt.
In addition, there is an amount of R$676 million referring to tax installments and another R$710 million referring to the payment of Neo Química Arena.
