Last week, the Grand Jury of the Crystal Wing listened to the proposals of the juries and confirmed the list of 30 names of nominated personalities in individual categories. The names of all laureates of the 28th year of the Crystal Wing awards ceremony will be revealed to the public during the gala evening on March 15, 2025. “This year, 50 experts sat in the juries again, and they selected 30 nominees and also agreed on the Special Prize,” confirmed PR manager Andrea Čurná.
Among the nominated personalities this year also appeared former Slovak president Rudolf Schuster, Lenka Poláčková, who was the first Slovak woman to climb Mount Everest this year without the help of an oxygen device. In the sports category there is also Paralympian Veronika Vadovičová and in the philanthropy category they figure, for example Jana Galatová and Silvia Slobodová, which founded the pre-Christmas tradition of How Much Love Fits in a Shoebox.
Even in the 28th year, the awards were chosen by juries from nominations sent by the public. “This year, the judges again had a big challenge to choose only three names in each category from all the nominations, and this time too, each of the nominees deserved the Crystal Wing award,” says Katarína Srkala, director of the Crystal Wing, which annually awards significant and inspiring personalities of Slovakia and their extraordinary achievements in the field of science, culture, philanthropy or sports.
Among the nominations are prominent names such as Pavol Bršlík, Matúš Jakabčic, Slávka Zámečníková, Emil Horváth, Martin Žiaran, Tina, Vladimír Krausz or the group Para, but also personalities in less popular categories, which the Crystal Wing points out and the public should get to know.
The public will learn the names of the award winners for 2024 in a live broadcast from the gala evening, which will be broadcast by Slovak Television on Jednotka on March 15, 2025. Actress Zdena Studenková will receive the special award.
