Gonçalo Borges celebrates at FC Porto-Estrela da Amadora
A victory would put Porto in second place, overtaking Benfica, and that’s what happened.
In a lackluster game, but with a much better “dragon” at all times of the game, the Invicta team vbeat Estrela da Amadora 2-0with a goal in each half.
Porto were clearly superior in a first half that was far from exciting.
Despite their dominance, however, the “blue-and-white” team had few shots and was involved in few actions with the ball in the opposing area, but enough to score in the 12th minute for Nico Gonzalez, after a corner.
Estrela tried to react, but never showed the art or ingenuity to bother Diogo Costa.
The difference between the two teams remained in the second half, with more Porto, but as in the initial stage, without many shots or plays of great danger.
We don’t even see eye-catching or well-defined collective or individual moves, except near the end, when Gonçalo Borges he received it on the right and shot hard at the near post, making it 2-0, reassuring the Porto team.
Best on the field
Nico. The Spaniard was a source of extra quality in Porto football. Nico opened the scoring after just 12 minutes and maintained a very high level at different times. Highlighting the excellent 14 duels won out of 18, 90% passing efficiency, six progressive passes, two complete dribbles out of three attempted, four aerial duels won out of four, four more tackles and many other fouls suffered.
