Created in just 15 minutes by Mariah Carey and the producer Walter Afanasieff, the topic faced some initial resistance. Despite being almost abandoned by the authors themselves, “All I Want for Christmas Is You” was recorded in August 1994 and released two months later. The song is part of the album “Merry Christmas”, the singer’s fourth, and, since its release, has been praised by critics and fans.
Over the years, the song has become even more iconic and now has several versions. In 2011, Mariah Carey recorded a new version with Justin Bieber. In the same year, Michael Bublé included the theme on his Christmas album. Two years later, Mariah collaborated with comedian Jimmy Fallon for a new interpretation.

During the “Christmas Time” tour in the United States, Mariah received the news that the song had once again reached the top of the charts.
