The Ministry of Mines and Energy (MME) reported that the Transmission Line (LT) that connects Rio Branco (AC) to the municipalities of Feijó (AC) and Cruzeiro do Sul (AC) will enable annual savings of R$ 240 million to electricity consumers in the country.

It went into operation this Monday (16).

The ministry estimates this savings with the end of dependence on the use of 6 million liters of diesel oil, consumed annually in generating plants to meet local demand. Tests on the LT were carried out to assess its integrity and reliability, before it went into operation this Monday.

“This integration represents a milestone for Acre, especially for Cruzeiro do Sul, which will now have greater electrical security and a cleaner and more economical solution”, stated the MME, in a note.

The works were carried out within the scope of the Energias da Amazônia program, established by Decree No. 11,648/2023. The program seeks to reduce dependence on energy generation from diesel oil in the Amazon region.
