Pontiff turned 88 this Tuesday (Dec 17); became the longest-serving leader of the Catholic Church in 700 years
The president (PT) congratulated Pope Francis, who turned 88 this Tuesday (Dec 17, 2024). In a publication on his profile on X, the head of the Executive said that the pontiff, who he called “great friend”it is “an example of life”.
“Today, my dear friend Pope Francis turns 88 years old. His Holiness is an example of life, solidarity and dedication for all of us who fight for a fairer, more fraternal world, with peace and less inequalities.”wrote Lula
With the celebration of another year of life, Pope Francis became the longest-serving leader of the Catholic Church in 700 years. The pontiff has been in the position since March 2013. He was the first South American to hold the position.
