The head of the Civil House, (), and the Minister of Institutional Relations, (PT), visited (PT), in São Paulo, on Monday afternoon (16), one day after the president.
According to Padilha, Lula should meet with his ministers next Friday (20) in an end-of-year meeting. The minister stated that there are no details on the format of the meeting, but that it could take place in Brasília.
Padilha said that “it will be a moment of fraternization.” Still according to the minister, the president “is fully active, taking care of and leading our country.”
The ministers arrived at Lula’s house, in Pinheiros (west zone), at around 3:30 pm. The visit lasted around 1h20. On the way out, only Padilha spoke to journalists.
Questioned by the press, he stated that Lula did not talk about the situation of the retired general, former government minister () and also candidate for vice on the defeated 2022 ticket.
“The president will always defend people’s right to defend themselves. […] But have no doubt that, if the evidence confirms, the evidence in fact, that they are people who committed coup acts and committed crimes against democracy… He always defends following due legal process and, if this is confirmed, that be vehemently punished,” he said.
Padilha also stated that he discussed the Congress agenda with Lula — and that the expectation is that it will be voted on by the end of the week by the end of the year.
The minister also said that Lula has recovered and will remain in São Paulo until further tests are carried out.
On Monday morning, the Minister of Finance, (PT), visited Lula, which he had this Sunday (15). The president spent six days in hospital after emergency head surgery to stop bleeding.

Lula, which involves removing a clot using a drain placed in an open hole in the patient’s skull. On Thursday (12), he underwent surgery to stop the blood flow in a region of his brain and thus prevent further bleeding. The interventions were successful.
