One of the most prestigious achievements in an athlete’s career is winning football’s biggest awards, which evaluate the quality of seasons, campaigns and goals at a global level. But how incredible is it, besides winning an award, to receive one with your name on it?
That’s what the queen of football, Marta, did at the FIFA awards ceremony for the best in the world, The Best, this Tuesday (17). The award for the most beautiful goal in women’s football is named after her, and was won by her in its first edition.

The winning goal for the Marta Award was scored in a friendly in June, against Jamaica, in a 4-0 defeat by the Brazilian team. This was the queen’s second of the game.
At the beginning of this year, the award equivalent to the Puskas for men was created in honor of the woman who was voted best in the world the most times in the history of The Best, in 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2018.
“I’m very happy with the result, being able to compete with so many stars. This season and her goals were wonderful. It was incredible to also receive an award that has my name on it”, celebrated Marta in a thank you video sent to The Best.
