The officers of the criminal police department of the Regional Directorate of the Police Force (PZ) in Nitra, in cooperation with other departments, arrested a 34-year-old man. He was suspected of selling marijuana for a long time. The police informed about it.

According to the information obtained, the detained man was supposed to sell the drug in his apartment to several regular customers and in larger quantities from at least 2021. “During the house search, among other traces, dried plant material weighing almost half a kilogram was also seized. According to the preliminary statement of the experts, these were parts of hemp plants with the presence of cannabinoid-type substances, especially THC,” the police said.

The investigator has already filed charges for the crime of unauthorized production and trafficking of narcotic and psychotropic substances. “For that, the accused faces a prison sentence of seven to 15 years. The judge of the District Court of Nitra, on the proposal of the prosecutor, decided to take the accused into custody for fear that he will continue to commit criminal activity,” the police added.
