The Military Police carries out a special operation in the Rocinha favelain the south of Rio de Janeiro, this Tuesday morning (17).
The action is carried out in conjunction with the Public Ministry of Rio de Janeiro. The operation is coordinated by the Police Operations Command (COE) of the Military Police and has the participation of the Special Operations Battalion (BOPE), the elite troops of the Rio Military Police.
Agents from the Shock Police Battalion (BPC), Dog Action Battalion (BAC), Motorcyclist Tactical Group (GTM) and the Military Police Airmobile Group (GAM) also participate in the operation.
Several residents reported on social media many shootings in the community. Videos show the shootings and police action with armored vehicles since early this morning. Watch below.
