Isnaldo Bulhões is due to present his report this Tuesday (17), and the Chamber of Deputies has until next Thursday (19) to deliberate on the project

The deputy, from the MDB of Alagoas, who acts as rapporteur of the bill that revises the minimum wage readjustment standards and the criteria for the Continuous Payment Benefit (), announced that he will maintain the minimum wage guidelines in accordance with the original text of the government. However, he intends to modify the BPC criteria so that they are less rigorous. The proposal under discussion establishes that the real increase in the minimum wage will be between 0.6% and 2.5% annually. The president had already reestablished the rule that adjusts the minimum wage based on inflation and GDP growth.

Isnaldo Bulhões is expected to present his report soon, and the Chamber of Deputies has until next Thursday (19) to deliberate on the project. In relation to the BPC, the deputy highlighted that he seeks to review the income criteria, without giving up supervision. The new guidelines for the BPC are considered a delicate aspect of the fiscal package, and there is resistance in the Chamber, including among members of the PT, in approving changes that could restrict access to this social program.

Currently, for a family to be entitled to the BPC, the per capita income must be a maximum of 25% of the minimum wage. The government project proposes changes to this rule, by including other benefits in the calculation of family income. Furthermore, the fiscal package covers a proposal that allows amendments to be blocked and a PEC that changes the salary bonus rules, with the expectation that everything will be approved by Thursday.
