After a meeting with the Minister of Finance, President Lula met, this Monday (16), with ministers Alexandre Padilha, responsible for Institutional Relations, and Rui Costa, who heads the Civil House. During the meeting, Padilha brought up the vote on Tax Reform in the Chamber of Deputies, as well as other issues that still need to be addressed before the end of the year.
“I reported to the president the meetings we had, on the weekends, with the leaders of the House,” said the minister. “We are dealing with Congress’ agenda this week, absolute priority for voting on Tax Reform today in the Chamber, the positive expectation that discussion and voting can begin today”, he stated.
Padilha also mentioned that, although the specific agenda has not yet been announced. Furthermore, Padilha assured that the president is feeling well and is “absolutely recovered”. According to the minister, the situation of former minister Braga Netto was not one of the topics discussed.
Lula, who was discharged on Sunday (15) after being hospitalized due to internal bleeding in the head resulting from a fall and undergoing surgical procedures, will remain in São Paulo. He should undergo a new CT scan next Thursday. If the results are favorable, the president will be able to travel to Brasília and resume his activities, maintaining “common sense” in decisions over the next 15 days.
