Guilherme Gandra Moura, known as Gui, is 10 years old and faces a daily battle against epidermolysis bullosa, a rare disease that causes wounds on the skin and affects growth. He gained notoriety after an emotional video in which he was reunited with his mother after an induced coma.
During the time he was hospitalized, Gui, a passionate Vasco fan, received support and affection from several players, creating a special friendship with striker Gabriel Pec, currently at Los Angeles Galaxy, whom he affectionately calls “Uncle Pec”. Who was competing for the prize?
Gui competed for the award alongside Mexican José Armando Guzmán Mendoza, who became a symbolic fan of Cruz Azul, from Mexico, while fighting leukemia. José Armando passed away at the age of 14 without being able to fulfill his dream of meeting the club’s squad.
