Christmas 2024 should boost commerce in Rio Branco, according to a recent survey carried out by Fecomércio Acre, involving 201 consumers and 108 businesspeople, which revealed that clothes continue to be the most desired gifts by consumers in Rio Branco, with 45 .1% of purchase intentions aimed at this segment.

The survey also showed that the majority of consumers (68.5%) plan to spend up to R$200.00 on Christmas shopping this year/Aline Vieira/Rede Amazônica Acre
Next, consumers’ preference is for toys, which appear as an option for 19.2% of respondents. Footwear is the choice of 15.6%.
The survey also showed that the majority of consumers (68.5%) plan to spend up to R$200.00 on Christmas shopping this year. The more restricted value reflects the current economic scenario, in which a large part of the population seeks to balance the desire to give gifts with the need to control expenses.
As a way to increase sales, Acre’s business community is betting on discounts (35.2%), eliminating interest on purchases in installments (28.8%) and reducing prices in general (28.4%).
Furthermore, more than half (59%) of businesspeople in the capital say they expect an increase in sales compared to the same festive period the previous year.
Despite the positive data, not a third of the business community (just 32.4%) will hire more employees during the period.
The advisor to the presidency of Fecomércio Acre, Egídio Garó, states that the date is very important for local commerce and that it should be one of the moments in which businesspeople make the most profit during the year.
“Christmas is a key date for local commerce. We are confident that the strategic planning of businesspeople, combined with the search for better offers by consumers, will bring positive results. But it is essential that the market remains attentive to the needs of the population, offering accessible and attractive options”, he said.
