Cafe in Zaporizhia intact after Russian attack
Clinic in Zaporizhia was hit by missile. But next door, a cafe remained as it was, complete with Christmas lights intact.
It’s one of those cases where a picture is worth a thousand words. But even so, here is a summary.
Last week, on December 10th, a missile destroyed a private clinic in Zaporizhia. At least 10 people died and 22 were injured.
The local governor, Ivan Fedorov, warned Russia that he “will not forgive” the bombing – which also destroyed an office building in the center of Vozesenivski.
But, right next to it, there is a cafe where… it seems like nothing happened.
The cafe is located in one of the destroyed buildings but remained intact, to work, with the right to Christmas lights out here still working. No glass destroyed, or doors destroyed, apparently.
The photograph was shared by Anton Martynov, an editor who wrote that this is a “symbolic photo of Zaporizhia”, he quoted her.
“The cafe, known for having the best filtered coffee, keeps the Christmas spirit alive despite the missile attack on the medical center. The Russians intend to intimidate, ignoring the futility of their actions and the civilian losses”, continues Martynov.
The radio adds that this café is now a “symbol of Ukrainian resistance“.
