Russian authorities said this Wednesday (Dec 18, 2024) that they arrested a man from Uzbekistan accused of Russian general and head of the Nuclear, Biological and Chemical Protection program, in Moscow, on Tuesday (Dec 17).
The suspect confessed to having carried out the attack with a bomb hidden in an electric scooter, on orders from the SBU (Security Service of Ukraine), resulting in the death of Kirillov and his assistant. The information is from .

The SBU claimed action after accusing Kirillov of using chemical weapons against Ukrainian troops. Moscow denies the allegations.
With Kirillov’s death, Russia said it plans to take the case to the UN Security Council at the meeting scheduled for this Friday (Dec 20).
Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said those responsible would be punished. He further commented that the “kyiv regime” acted under the influence of “Anglo-Saxons”referring to the United States and allies in the West.
The US State Department denied involvement in the assassination.
