The opposition bench announced this Wednesday (18) its new leader for from 2025, deputy Luciano Zucco (-RS), after consensus.
“The system has to understand that the majority of Brazilians vote with us. When we say ‘supreme’, it is the people, it is the people who will vote, who will choose each representative accordingly”, he said. “You can be sure that in 2027 we will no longer be opposition, we will be situation. And it is important to respect each other.”
The announcement was made in the Green Room of the Chamber by the opposition bench. Zucco began speaking, followed by deputy Nikolas Ferreira (PL-SP).
Today, this post is occupied by deputy Filipe Barros (PL-PR). Representatives Julia Zanatta (PL-SC), Chris Tonietto (PL-RJ) and Carla Zambelli (PL-SP) and other members of the bench were also present at the announcement.
The choice of Zucco’s name to represent the bench was, Sheetin November. An ally of the former president (PL), the deputy was president of the CPI (Parliamentary Commission of Inquiry) of the MST, in 2023, which investigated the movement’s activities in the country.
The congressman takes office in February 2025. Originally, Zucco was elected to the position of federal deputy by the Republicans, from where he left in November 2023.
