What is the secret of the popular nun’s recipe? Sister Anastazja focuses on what has always worked. So it has to be simple, traditional, just like we remember from the old days. Even though her recipe contains only a few ingredients – eggs, flour, olive oil, water – the effect is always perfect.
To make the cake you need:
- 500 g of flour,
- 2 small eggs,
- approx. 260 ml of water at 40 degrees Celsius,
- 30 ml olive oil.
To make the stuffing you will need:
- 60 g of dried forest mushrooms,
- 20 g breadcrumbs,
- 2 medium onions,
- 20 g of butter,
- sun,
- pepper.
Pour the sifted flour into the bowlmake a well in it and add one egg. Add olive oil and then gradually add water. Knead the dough constantly. Once it is uniform and elastic, wrap it in food foil. Let it rest for about half an hour.
Start preparing the stuffing by soaking the mushrooms in water – it’s best to soak them overnight. Then chop them. Cut the onion into small cubes. Heat the butter in a panfry the onion until translucent. Add the mushrooms, season and fry until they soften. Then add breadcrumbs – it will absorb excess liquid.
Boil the dumplings in salted water until they are soft. Remove them from the water, drain, pour oil over them and place on a baking tray.
Why Sister Anastazja’s Christmas Eve ears are they so special? As you can see, the recipe is quite simple, although it requires patience and precision. Anastazja also has a few tricks that make them always come out perfect.
The secret is to use wild mushrooms in the recipe – they are the most intense in taste. Another important element is the use of breadcrumbs in the stuffing. Don’t forget to add oil to the water to prevent the dumplings from sticking together. Sister Anastazja also suggests cutting them out cake into rectangles – this is an alternative to classic wheels.
All this makes sister Anastazja’s ears it’s more than just an ordinary dish. This holiday season, treat your family to a real taste experience.
