Unlike other years, the Government’s money exceeds the applications – which are almost over. But there is no money for bicycles anymore.
About two and a half months ago, the Government support of 4,000 euros in buy of a vehicle electric that costs up to 38,500 euros.
Support for the purchase of trams is not new. Once included in the Environmental Fund, now also called the Green Mobility Package.
But 2024 brought a detail that is not a detail: to have this support, the buyer has to scrap his current car.
The Government’s program wants to remove end-of-life vehicles from the roads, with registration prior to 2007.
In other years, demand was so great that verba made available by the Government ran out quickly. Those interested would have to try the following year.
But now this factor, the mandatory slaughter, drove a lot of people away.
About three weeks after the announcement of support, they had only been submitted… .
Now, when There are only 12 days left until the deadline of applications (December 31st is the limit), 379 candidates have already appeared; 293 were accepted, 39 excluded, 72 require additional elements and 32 to be validated.
But more than half of the budget total of 4.2 million euros still to be distributed. More specifically, they are still available 2.6 million euros for this support for the purchase of electric cars.
The reinforces the idea: destroying an old car kept potential candidates away.
The scenario is different when it comes to supporting the purchase of bicycles: there is no more money. Neither for cargo bikes (total support of 450,000 euros), nor for conventional bicycles (150,000 euros). There are already too many applications, in both cases.
