The North Korean soldiers fighting alongside Russia are not having an easy situation on the front. The South Korean National Intelligence Service (NIS) estimates that a hundred soldiers sent by North Korea to the Ukrainian front have already died in combat and around 1,000 have been injured.
“Part of the 11,000 North Korean soldiers deployed in the Kursk region began to enter combat in December. At least 100 soldiers have died since then, and we estimate that there must be more than 1,000 wounded.“, announced on Thursday the deputy of the ruling People’s Power Party (PPP), Lee Seong-kwonin a session of the intelligence committee of the National Assembly (Parliament).
The NIS considers that this high figure, which is surprising due to the small number of direct combats, is due to the fact that “North Korean soldiers are being used as frontline assault forces in open fields and unknown terrain y They also lack the capacity to respond to drone attacks“.
For its part, the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) confirmed on Wednesday on its Telegram channel that “More than 200 North Korean soldiers were transferred to one of the Russian hospitals near Moscow” to receive medical attention. Something that some Russian citizens do not seem to like.
The SBU intercepted an alleged conversation between a nurse at a hospital in the Moscow region and her husband, a Russian soldier fighting against Ukraine in the Kharkiv region. “Yesterday a train passed with about 100 people. Today there are 120 more, there are already 200. And how many are still left? Only God knows”the woman complains.
Rooms released only for them
The nurse criticizes that hospital wards are being vacated specifically for North Korean militants, leaving wounded Russian soldiers in worse conditions. “Are they elite, these Koreans, or what? We freed up certain rooms for them. Are they that privileged or something?”denounces.
Thus, he assures that if the North Korean soldiers ask him for anesthesia, he plans to refuse to inject it: “‘Go to hell,’ I’ll tell them. ‘I don’t understand what they’re saying’“The professional also reveals the real lack of understanding that exists because the foreign soldiers have not learned Russian and cannot communicate in English with them either. “They are prohibited from speaking English. Since they are North Koreans, they are with us. The South Koreans, on the other hand, are with the United States”details.
“Damn, they’re all the same. How are we going to tell them apart? It’s like we wrote on their foreheads with a marker. What a zoo!” Soon there will be no one left to talk to. They will just mutter something in their gibberish. It’s crazy!“, sentence.
