A reindeer, a Santa Claus, an elf or a bird. Ukraine is getting creative to target the positions of North Korean soldiers fighting in Russia.
According to the head of Ukraine’s Center for Counterintelligence, Andriy Kovalenko, around 200 North Korean soldiers have died since entering combat on Russia’s side, particularly in the Kursk region, where Moscow is trying to recover ground lost since the beginning of August.
In this series of clashes between the two parties, drones are also being used. Andriy Kovalenko states, in statements published on social media, that part of the North Korean casualties are being inflicted with these same drones, many of which have Christmas decorations.

Videos of attacks carried out against the enemy have recently been published by Ukrainian forces, showing the action of the 8th Ukrainian Special Regiment, which operates in the more than 500 square kilometers that the country still controls in Kursk.
Together, the Russians and North Koreans placed around 60,000 soldiers in Kursk, where they have managed to advance, albeit with difficulty. Plekhovo’s most recent achievement confirmed that the advance really exists, although Ukraine is resisting with everything in order to continue to have a negotiating advantage.
There are 60 thousand on one side and only 20 thousand on the other, which makes direct combat even more dangerous. This is also why Ukraine resorts to drone attacks, with many of them using props such as Father Natao caps, reindeer or elves.
