The inauguration of mayors, vice-mayors and councilors elected in October will take place on the 1st.
In Minas Gerais, 849 of the state’s 853 municipalities must swear in their chief executives for the next four years.
The remaining four municipalities did not have representatives declared elected by the Superior Electoral Court (TSE), because the slates with the most votes had some irregularity in their records. They are:
- Guapé
- Bonito of Minas
- São José da Varginha
- Ingaí
In the case of Bonito de Minas, the candidacy of Dilson de Senhorinha (União), who received 51.72% of the votes, was annulled.
In the remaining three municipalities, the most voted candidates are annulled sub judice, that is, they are still awaiting a decision from the Court. If the year begins without a change in the trial situation, the President of the City Council who takes office must take over temporarily.
The solemn session that will swear in those elected in the three positions takes place jointly and has specific rules defined by the Organic Law of the Municipality, with details in the Internal Regulations of the Municipal Chamber of each location.
