Once again, Pep Guardiola went public to talk about the crisis he has been facing at Manchester City, which in the last eleven games, lost eight, drew two and won just one. In his last speech, the coach took the blame, stating that he was “not good enough”.
Now, the Spanish coach seems to have taken a slightly more optimistic stance, lamenting injuries but seeing a light at the end of the tunnel. Instead of criticizing the situation, he preferred to focus on the future, and how to resolve it.
“We have to start from scratch. I went through bad times as a coach, but we always managed to change the dynamic. Now it’s costing us more. We have to win. No matter what problems we have, we have to do it and we are not doing it. I know we will be ourselves again as soon as we have a good result and the whole team is available. I just want to have all the players, the whole squad”, he commented.
The low phase that the club has been experiencing received a new addition, with the injury of Rúben Dias. Now, the defender must be away from the field for around a month.
“Dias will be out for three or four weeks. He has a muscle problem, he felt something after playing 75 minutes against United. He is strong and continued on the field, but now he is injured”, informed Guardiola.
The team’s next chance to ease the fast is this Saturday (21), in a game against Aston Villa, at Villa Park. Currently, the club is in fifth place in the Premier League, with 27 points, nine behind the leader.
