The new French Prime Minister, , said he expected the new Government to be presented “during the weekend” or, alternatively, before Christmas, by Tuesday evening.
Appointed on December 13th, the Prime Minister must quickly appoint a Government to provide the country with a budget, interrupted by the motion of censure against his predecessor on December 5th.
France, with a National Assembly fragmented into three blocs (traditional center and right, left and extreme right), must adopt measures to reduce its high deficit, which by the end of 2024 is estimated to reach 6.1% of domestic product (GDP), at a time of political and financial impasse.
