The mountain wind warning applies to the districts of Banská Bystrica, Brezno, Poprad, Dolný Kubín, Liptovský Mikuláš, Martin, Námestovo, Ružomberok, Tvrdošín and Žilina. “On the mountains above the forest zone, the occurrence of wind is expected, which can reach a short-term speed of 110 to 135 kilometers per hour or an average speed of 70 to 85 kilometers per hour, which is a gale,” brought closer by SHMÚ.

Meteorologists have also issued a strong wind warning for the districts of Poprad, Trnava, Bratislava, Pezinok and Senec, which is valid until 12:00 p.m.
