Some people still like to eat forgotten urine (or lump). It is still popular in Silesia and Lesser Poland. Unfortunately, in the rest of the country, most people no longer remember it.
It’s a pity, because when prepared well it tastes really delicious. On the Christmas Eve table, it can easily compete with jelly and poppy seed cake for the title of the best Christmas dessert.
Moczka (also known as bryja) is a sweet dessert, or rather a Christmas Eve dish, based on dried fruit, soaked gingerbread and honeywhich has been prepared in Poland since the 19th century. In the Polish People’s Republic it was a real hit on the Christmas table.
For older generations, it may be associated with childhood and evoke some kind of sentiment. The taste of soaker is somewhat similar to British pudding, but its consistency is not as compact. It is served in a bowl, cup or ordinary plate.
