The Ministry of the Interior (MV) of the Slovak Republic has launched a pilot installation of security cameraswhich will be implemented next year in schools throughout Slovakia. It did so at the Secondary Vocational School (SOŠ) of the Police Force in Pezinok. Interior Minister Matúš Šutaj Eštok (Hlas-SD) informed about this at the press conference on Friday.
“The installed camera system at the SOŠ in Pezinok consists of nine cameras that monitor five key points within the school grounds,” stated. According to Šutaj Eštok, the solution for the other schools is planned for an average of five cameras. All of them will be directed to the surroundings of the school, namely to the entrance and to the perimeter of the school.
As he pointed out, the image from the security cameras will be transmitted in real time to the operation center of the Police Force via a secured MV line. “Only authorized school personnel will have access to this data, so there will be no misuse of the data,” added Šutaj Eštok.
According to the minister, the goal of the camera system project is creating a safe environment for children, teachers and other school employees. Also the feeling of safety of the parents of the children. This is one of the measures to increase safety in schools.
