Dead and dozens injured in SUV attack on Christmas market in Magdeburg – perpetrator arrested

Magdeburg – In Magdeburg, Germany, a car drove into a crowd at a Christmas market on Friday evening – shortly after 7 p.m. Saxony-Anhalt’s Prime Minister Reiner Haseloff spoke of at least two dead. There is a small child among them. The city of Magdeburg spoke of 70 – 15 of them seriously – injured. Tents for emergency medical treatment were quickly set up on the spot, and hospitals in several towns in the area took in the injured. Further fatalities cannot be ruled out. Reports from the Bild newspaper Haseloff called at least eleven deaths “speculation” and said he could not confirm this information.
