Alpine violet, also known as Persian cyclamen, does not tolerate direct sunlight. The rays can damage its delicate leaves and flowers, leading to them wilting. For this reason, placing the pot on southern windowsills is avoided or in heavily sunny places. The plant develops best in bright but diffused light.
Another problem may be too dry and hot air, e.g. near radiators. prefers cool temperatures of 15-18°C during the day and a humid environment. Dry air may cause flowers to fall, and high temperatures accelerate the wilting processes.

In order for the alpine violet to bloom, it is worth choosing a location with moderate temperature and diffused light. A good choice will be the windowsill of eastern or western windows, where the plant will receive the right amount of light without the risk of overheating. It is also worth providing the violet with adequate air humiditye.g. by placing the pot on a stand with pebbles covered with water.
One of the most common mistakes when growing violets is excessive watering. Overwatering the plant may lead to rotting of the tubers and lack of flowering. It is important that the soil is dry on the surface before the next watering. Therefore, it is good to water the plant on average every 3-4 days during the growing season. In winter, watering the violet should be limited to once every two weeks.
Overwatered alpine violet is susceptible to pests and various diseases. We are talking about powdery mildew and gray mold. The symptoms of these diseases are most often brown spots on the leaves and tuber of the violet. A quick reaction, the use of a fungicide and limiting watering will then save the plant.
