The Žilina Regional Police is warning motorists to changes in traffic at the exit of the Liptov part of the D1 highway to road I/18 near Ivachnová. Traffic in direction from Liptovský Mikuláš to Ružomberok is redirected through the village of Ivachnová.
The reason is the need to complete the construction of the D1 Hubová – Ivachnová highway section, which should be completed by the end of next year. “Traffic is diverted via the Ivachnová exit to the I/18 road. We strongly request drivers to respect the traffic signs in the given section,” the police said.
The village of Ivachnová warned on the social network that after the traffic was redirected, there was a change of priority in driving at the intersection of road I/18 in the direction from Partizánská Ľupča and the exit from the D1 highway. “Use extra caution, do not park your vehicles on I/18 and use the sidewalk whenever possible,” the municipality called on its citizens.
The traffic changes near Ivachnová occurred after the National Highway Company on Thursday, December 19, gave motorists the premature use of the two-kilometer section of the D1 highway in the direction from Ružomberok to Liptovský Mikuláš, which also includes a gallery serving to stabilize the adjacent slope.
