According to the national emergency medical service, 14 people suffered minor injuries.
A missile launched from Yemen fell this Saturday (Dec 21, 2024) in the Jaffa area of Tel Aviv. According to the MDA (Magen David Adom, the Israeli national emergency medical and disaster service), 14 people were injured, but not seriously.
In X (former Twitter), they were injured with broken glass and were taken to the hospital. “Additional teams are treating several people at the scene who were injured while heading to protected areas, as well as those suffering from anxiety”, said the agency.
A spokesman for the Houthis, a Yemen-based and Iran-aligned group, said they had reached a “military target” in the Jaffa area with a ballistic missile.
Since the start of the war between Israel and Hamas, the Houthis have targeted commercial ships and fired missiles as a way of expressing support for the Palestinians and the group that controls the Gaza Strip.
The Houthis share religious and political affinities with Iran, which is also part of the so-called “Axis of Resistance”, an alliance that includes Hamas and the Lebanese group Hezbollah.
END OF CONFLICT
A ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip is being negotiated between Israeli and Palestinian authorities. The United States government, together with Egypt and Qatar, mediate the discussions.
According to a statement issued by Hamas, a ceasefire agreement and release of hostages would be possible if Israel stopped imposing new conditions.
“Hamas asserts that, in light of the serious and positive discussions taking place today in Doha, under the auspices of our brothers in Qatar and Egypt, reaching an agreement for a ceasefire and a prisoner exchange is possible if the occupation stop imposing new conditions”, said the extremist group.
