In his last speech of the year — and perhaps also from the pulpit of the Salão Azul as president of —, (-MG) dodged the rumors of becoming a minister in the Lula (PT) government, played with football and celebrated the marathon of projects at the end of year.
After the approval of , this Friday (20), and , Pacheco answered questions from journalists and began to say goodbye to his four-year period as president of the Senate.
The senator said he will and listed projects he intends to dedicate himself to starting next year, such as updating the Civil Code and reforming the Electoral Code. “No, that definition doesn’t exist,” he replied, when asked if he would be a minister.
“I have to complete my term as president of the Senate by February 1st, elect the Board of Directors in the first days of February, define the committees. For now, the definition is to remain here in the Senate, there in my office 24, to be able to serve my state of Minas Gerais and serve the Brazilian people through these measures.”
In a small review of his tenure as president, Pacheco said he was proud to be the author of the law that made it possible to purchase vaccines against Covid-19, during the pandemic, and the SAF (Sociedade Anônima do Futebol) law.
“I am very happy to, at this time, be the author of the vaccine law project, […] of the SAF law, which saved many clubs throughout Brazil. He was even champion as a SAF and, which is also a Football Corporation, so it’s a model that works very well”, said the president, who is an athlete.
