Between “60 and 80 people” were injured this Friday when a vehicle hit passers-by at a Christmas market in Magdeburg, in northern Germany, a spokesman for local rescuers reported. Images shared on social networks show how a car enters this market at great speed which brought together many families on the weekend before Christmas.
Some media talk about several dead and they claim that it is an attack. The rescuers stated that several people were “seriously injured” as a result of the accident, in which “a vehicle” was involved.
A spokesman for the regional government, Mathias Schüppe, said that the event “is surely an attack” due to the way the events occurred, since the car rushed into the crowd.
