Ukraine’s president says he is “deeply grateful” for Bill Burns’ help. Volodymyr Zelensky says they will keep in touch.
The CIA director was at for the last time as head of that North American agency, the Ukrainian president said this Saturday on the social network X, stating that he was “deeply grateful” for the help given by Bill Burns.
“Bill Burns visited Ukraine on his last trip as director of the CIA. Throughout this war, we had many meetings and I am deeply grateful for your help,” Volodymyr Zelensky wrote on his account.
The Ukrainian president admits that “normally, these meetings are not made public”, and that all meetings between the two – “whether in Ukraine, in other European countries, in the United States or in other parts of the world” – took place “no official announcements”.
“However, after your last visit, it is worth speaking openly: Bill, I wish you and your family well. May luck always be on your side”diz Zelensky.
The Ukrainian president ends by saying that no secrets will be revealed, but that the two will keep in touch.
“It is likely that we will meet again and We will certainly see how this war ends with real and lasting peace – a peace for which we are working together”, he concludes.
