Bremen – Marco Grüll became the match winner for Werder Bremen on Saturday. The Salzburg player scored two goals in a 4-1 home win over Union Berlin, and his club climbed to sixth place in the German Bundesliga. Christian Ilzer’s Hoffenheim suffered a 2-1 home defeat against Gladbach, Stuttgart lost 1-0 at home against St. Pauli, and Frankfurt lost 3-1 against Mainz in front of their own crowd. Kiel won against Augsburg 5-1, as did Leverkusen against Freiburg.
