Everton and Chelsea were 0-0, this Sunday (22/12), in a game held at Goodison Park, in Liverpool, for the 17th round of the Premier League.

The result prevented Chelsea from taking, even provisionally, the lead in the tournament. The Blues reached 35 points against 36 for leaders Liverpool, who are still playing in the round against Tottenham.
Everton, for their part, achieved their second consecutive 0-0 draw, as in the previous round they also reached a goalless draw against Arsenal. The team reached 16 points, in 16th place, and remains threatened by its proximity to the relegation zone.
Everton x Chelsea: how it was
Chelsea started the game showing dominance. After two minutes, the team had the first chance, with Cole Palmer’s shot going wide. At 9, it was Pedro Neto’s turn to score, but Pickford made the save.
At 25, the Blues had the best chance of the match. Palmer advanced from the edge and played for Jackson to finish almost in the small area. Pickford made the save with his feet and Gusto, with his head, tried to take advantage of the rebound, but sent it over the Everton goal.

At 31, another great chance for Chelsea, with Jackson. The player hit the post with his head, almost opening the score.
In the second stage, Everton grew. After four minutes, Harrison came face to face with goalkeeper Sánchez, who closed the angle well and made the save.
The teams exchanged shots, but without either team posing much danger to the opponent’s goal.
In the 31st minute, Everton had a clear chance to score. After a cross from the right was deflected by goalkeeper Sánchez, the ball was left for Ndiaye to hit firmly, but the shot was blocked by the defense.
At 36, it was Mangala’s turn to threaten Sánchez’s late goal.

In the final minutes, Chelsea tried to loosen up more, but were unable to break through Everton’s strong defensive block. Final result: goalless draw.
