Passes in metropolitan areas will maintain prices, but there will be some increases in occasional tickets and trains.
CP – Comboios de Portugal announced a average increase of 2.02% in ticket prices for 2025, following the consumer price index calculated by the National Statistics Institute. This increase will be noticeable in the fares of various rail and public transport services.
O Pendular Alphawhich connects Lisbon to Porto, will have the following adjustments:
- Tourist class: from 33.90 euros to 34.60 euros
- Comfort class: from 47.40 euros to 48.40 euros
Intercidades, a more economical alternative, will also undergo changes. The Lisbon-Porto connection will go from 26.85 euros to 27.40 euros in second class, while the Lisbon-Valença route will increase from 31.70 euros to 32.30 euros. For international trips, such as the Campanhã-Vigo connection on the Celta train, the price will rise from 15.90 euros to 16.25 euros.
On urban and suburban trains in Lisbon and Porto, there will be increases of 5 to 10 cents for single tickets covering more than one zone. However, monthly passes, such as Navegante and Andante, and 30-day passes will remain unchanged in price, explains .
More expensive occasional titles
Public transport operators in Lisbon and Porto have also adjusted prices for occasional passengers. On Carris and the Lisbon Metro:
- The Carris/Metro ticket will go from 1.80 euros to 1.85 euros
- The daily Carris/Metro ticket will increase from 6.80 euros to 7 euros
- The Zapping prepaid ticket will rise from 1.61 euros to 1.66 euros
- The Viva Go prepaid ticket will rise from 1.61 euros to 1.66 euros
In the Metropolitan Region of Porto, occasional Andante tickets will maintain their prices, with the exception of tickets purchased on board a UNIR bus, which will have increases between 10 and 30 centsdepending on the distance traveled.
