The popularity of First Lady Rosângela da Silva, the , has plummeted since the beginning of the government (), according to a Genial/Quaest survey carried out at the beginning of this month.
Janja’s positive rating dropped 19 points between February 2023 and December 2024. The number was 41% in February 2023, reached 28% in December last year and is now at 22%.
On the other hand, the percentage of negative opinions rose in the same period. It was 19% in February last year, rose to 26% a year ago and is now 28%. Regular evaluations went from 22%, reached 32% and reached 30%.
Quaest personally interviewed 8,598 people aged 16 and over, between December 4th and 9th. The margin of error is one percentage point, plus or minus.
The positive evaluation registered a drop in all regions. In the Northeast, it dropped 27 points: 56% approved of the first lady’s performance in February 2023, and rose to 36% in December of the same year. Now, it is at 29%.
Janja’s popularity has also fallen among women, from 46% to 31% and now 24%, and among the younger population, where positive reviews have dropped from 41% to 24% and then 18%.
Among Catholics, negative opinions outweigh positive ones: 26% against 24%, and 31% regular. For evangelicals, 34% have a negative evaluation, 27% consider it average and 18% consider it positive.
The survey also shows that the positive evaluation of Janja fell from 66% to 50% and is now at 36% among Lula voters. Despite the drop, the index still exceeds regular and negative opinions – today, by 33% and 11%, respectively.
Among Jair Bolsonaro (PL) voters, the opinion of the first lady has been mostly negative since February last year. It went from 46% to 54% and is now at 58%. The positive evaluation was 12%, reached 7% and is now at 6%.
