The Russian Defense Ministry announced that air defenses shot down 42 Ukrainian drones over five Russian regions on Sunday night. TASR informs about it according to a Reuters report.

Twenty drones were shot down by the Russian air defense over the Oryol region, eight drones were neutralized each over Rostov and Bryansk, five over Kursk and one over the Krasnodar region, the ministry specified in a post on the Telegram network.

The governor of the Oryol region, Andrej Klyčkov, announced that the attack hit the Stalnoj Kon oil terminal, where a fire subsequently broke out. “Fortunately, thanks to the quick response, the consequences of the attack were prevented – the fire was located immediately and is now completely extinguished. There were no casualties or significant damage,” he said.

The Reuters agency notes that this was the second attack on an oil terminal in the Oriol region within two weeks. The previous attack happened last Saturday. Klyčkov reported at the time that the fuel started burning “in the facility” after a “massive drone attack”. The governors of Rostov and Bryansk regions have announced that no casualties or damage have been reported following the latest overnight drone attacks.
