The bombardment sought “degrade operations of the Houthis as attacks against US Navy warships and merchant vessels in the south of the Red Sea“He detailed. Assets from the United States Air Force and Navy participated in the operation, including F-18 aircraft.

The Centcom statement comes after Yemen’s Houthi Shiite rebels accused the United States and the United Kingdom this Saturday of bombing an area that houses military barracks on the outskirts of Sana’a, reported Yemeni television Al Masirah, spokesman for the insurgents. “US-British aggression targeting the Attan area in the capital Sanaa,” the channel said, without giving further details.
