Thomas Conley, an 8-year-old elementary school student from Porter, Arizona, saved the life of his classmate, Isaiah Rodriguez, who was choking on a grape in the cafeteria.
Sitting next to Isaiah, Thomas noticed something was wrong and quickly intervened. The moment of courage was recorded on video, and the boy was hailed as a hero by the school community.
Local firefighters congratulated Thomas at a ceremony held at the school, and the principal highlighted the impact of the gesture, especially at an emotional time, as the school had lost a student to asphyxiation seven years earlier.
