Rescue teams are still waiting to remove the bodies and confirm the presence of other victims
A small plane crashed in Jalisco, Mexico, killing 7 people on Sunday (Dec 22, 2024). The aircraft left La Parota, in the State of Michoacán, and crashed in a forested area that was difficult to access, according to information released by Civil Defense.
The people who died in the accident have not yet been identified. Rescue teams controlled a fire, caused by the impact of the plane crash, and mitigated the risk of additional damage in the area, according to Civil Defense.
“On Sunday afternoon, a small Cessna 207 plane, from La Parota, Michoacán, suffered a plane crash, crashing in a wooded area that was difficult to access. Jalisco Civil Protection personnel, in coordination with the authorities of Quitupan and Mazamitla, went to the location, in an area close to the town of “Palo Verde”, municipality of Quitupan, to respond to the emergency.”says a post from Jalisco Civil Protection on social media.
“The police authorities who initially arrived preliminarily reported the death of 7 people. SEDENA troops also collaborate in guarding the scene of the incident. Work was carried out to extinguish the fire caused by the impact and mitigate risks to avoid possible additional damage to the area. They are currently waiting for the forensic authorities to remove the bodies and exclude the presence of more victims.”says the text.
