Does it drag from your hallway or balcony in winter? Is your door in order but missing thresholds? Get a sealing strip. It works great.
An inconspicuous tool that perfectly seals the door from below
A miracle for a few ducks! Even so, it can be said in a nutshell. Two long foam cylinders connected by a thin surface that can easily be inserted under the lower edge of the door is a very clever invention that effectively stops drafts, but also the ingress of possible dust and to some extent also water.
It couldn’t be easier. A simple foam stop under the door prevents drafts. You can see how it looks and how it is used in this short post from the Customers Reviews YouTube channel.

Functional foam insulation under the door and behind the spout!
You can use this simple insulation under the door wherever there is no threshold. It is therefore offered primarily in apartments where the floor covering is level and stretches from one side of the apartment to the other without unevenness or obstacles. Such a paradise for robotic vacuum cleaners, where nothing gets in the way, but it can be annoying if you want to have really warm in one room, but it is not necessary in the corridor next to it.
The molding under the door is definitely worth it and is very cheap. You can buy it in online stores for less than a hundred crowns. These sealing strips are available in brick-and-mortar and online stores, and you can probably guess which Asian large-scale manufacturer of cheap plastic things is the originator of this miracle. If you decide not to support purchases from the other side of the planet, you can also make a functional and beautiful solution.
Seal against drafts of our own production
You can make similar devices that prevent drafts, blowing dirt, and partly even water quite easily. It is enough to sew a long noodle from fabric and fill it three-quarters with something loose. Sand is offered, if you’re worried that the fine dust from the sand will sink through the fabric and make an even bigger mess, you can also use rice.
The point is that the long, thin jacket should be filled just enough to sit nicely behind the door and fill any gaps. That is why it is necessary that the bag is not completely filled. It would then hold its shape too much and the contents of the bag would not be able to fill the gap under the door.
The disadvantage of such a jacket with rice or sand is that you can only place it on one side, and you have to manually put it back in place after each closure. It is therefore useful, for example, in cottages and cottages, where you have to deal with poorly sealing windows or doors. But it can also be suitable for balcony doors, which we only open minimally in winter, or in other places where traffic is not so frequent.
Because a cylinder or just a long jacket outside the door is a bit boring, on social media you can find beautiful and simple instructions on how to sew a snake, dog or cat that will prevent drafts under the door. If you’re going to work on the production, then let it have juice and style!
