Doctors from the Bratislava University Hospital (UNB) are gradually signing amendments to their employment contracts, which will temporarily cancel their resignations. Almost 100 percent of the doctors who resigned from UNB had to sign them. This follows from the opinion given to TASR by hospital spokesperson Eva Kliská.
“Doctors who have resigned are gradually signing the amendments, according to our information, which we have from the representatives of the Medical Trade Union in all our hospitals, almost 100 percent of the doctors have signed these amendments,” said the spokeswoman.
The head of the Medical Trade Union (LOZ), Peter Visolajský, announced on Friday (December 20) that all doctors in their resignations should have the amendments to the contracts signed by Monday. As he clarified, the doctors will return to the hospitals conditionally, and the government must fulfill the promises made in the joint agreement with LOZ by the end of February 2025.
Health Minister Kamil Šaško (Voice-SD) signed an agreement on establishing social harmony in the health sector with the Medical Trade Union on Friday on behalf of the government. In it, the government committed itself to fulfilling several demands of medical trade unionists. As well as the fact that both sides will continue to negotiate on disputed points. LOZ is supposed to ensure that doctors withdraw their resignations. According to the contract, the salaries of hospital doctors should be increased according to the original state before the consolidation.
