Chief José Acácio Serere The arrest took place between the weekend and this Monday (23).
Serere is a defendant in a criminal case at the (Supreme Federal Court), for having participated in undemocratic acts following the results of the 2022 elections. He was arrested two years ago, but obtained the right to wear an electronic ankle bracelet.
About six months ago, Chief Serere broke the device and fled to Argentina. There was an open arrest warrant in Brazil.
Prison on the border. Chief Serere was on the border between Puerto Iguazú, in Argentina, and Foz do Iguaçu, in Brazil, according to information obtained by UOL.
The arrest was made by the Federal Police of Brazil. When contacted, the Federal Police of Argentina told UOL that it has no information about the detention of the chief, who was in the neighboring country.
