Deal raises Milwaukee Bucks player’s earnings beyond $600 million, plus Adidas and NBA contract
Damian Lillard, Milwaukee Bucks player and recently crowned World Cup champion, has signed a lifetime contract with Adidas. The agreement, not yet official, was announced by Espn on Wednesday (Dec. 18, 2024), highlighting Lillard as one of the few active players in the league with lifetime contracts with sporting goods brands. He joins the likes of Kevin Durant, LeBron James and Stephen Curry.
The contract takes Damian Lillard’s earnings beyond $600 million, considering his NBA and adidas contracts. Since entering the league in 2012, Lillard has been an ambassador for the German brand. His 11-season career with the Portland Trail Blazers, before joining the Milwaukee Bucks, strengthened this partnership.
In 2014, Damian Lillard had already renewed his contract with Adidas, in a decade-long deal valued at US$100 million.
Adidas also honored Lillard by naming a court at its headquarters after the point guard. In addition to Lillard, the brand has agreements with other NBA athletes, such as Anthony Edwards, from the Minnesota Timberwolves. In May, the collaboration between Edwards and Adidas resulted in the launch of the first sneaker signed by the “Ant Man”.
